There is currently only one Vendor capable of providing this product. Minot AFB members have worked with Global Strike STRIKEWERX and Minot Atomic Spark to create several prototypes to ensure these engine covers are completely affective to Minot's Mission. The vendor's design meets all requirements to fully enclose the engine pods, provide inlet access, and heater tube connection. Since there are no other Vendors who can provide covers with the required capabilities, 5 CONS intends to award a sole source purchase order to the Vendor that can fulfill this requirement. This purchase will be made under Simplified Acquisition Procedures and Other than Full and Open Competition as authorized by FAR 6.302-1(a)(2) & 13.106-1(b). The anticipated award date is after 13 September 2024. Please note that this is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all interested parties who believe they can meet the requirements are invited to submit in writing complete information describing their ability to provide a Contract for the repair of the B-52 Engine Pod Covers. The deadline date for the submittals is 13 September 2024 at 11 am Central Standard Time. A determination by the government not to compete this requirement based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government.
