Exact replacement parts must be utilized to ensure continued reliable operation of the manufacturer’s unit. The original equipment manufacturer (OEM) maintains proprietary information on the system designs, service procedures, electron optics, attachments, and calibration methods. The OEM is the only vendor capable of providing this service. To ensure satisfactory operation of the equipment the replacement parts must be obtained from the OEM. This is considered a sole source to ThermoFisher Scientific FEI Company because, to the best of the NETL’s knowledge, based on market research conducted ThermoFisher Scientific FEI Company is the only known source that can provide this type of maintenance. No known potential alternate sources exist which could satisfy NETL's requirement. This notice of intent is not a request for quote/proposal. Any interested party that believes it is capable of meeting the NETL requirement described herein may identify themselves and must provide evidence of their capability to fulfill the requirement being requested by 5:00 PM ET on May 21, 2026.
