In accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures, the Department of Energy (DOE), National Energy Technology Laboratory (NETL) intends to award a purchase order on a sole source basis to the Thermo-CALC Software, Inc. for database updates to existing Thermo-CALC and DICTRA Software packages. The upgrades are to the current database on contract with Thermo-CALC for maintenance and support and must be used to assure continued reliable operation of the systems. This will also maintain proprietary and internal information on the systems. Thermo-CALC Software, Inc. is the only capable vendor to provide this service. This is considered a sole source to Thermo-CALC Software, Inc. because, to the best of the NETL’s knowledge, based on market research conducted, Thermo-CALC Software, Inc. is the only known source that can provide these services. No known potential alternate sources exist which could satisfy NETL's requirement This notice of intent is not a request for quote/proposal. Any interested party that believes it can meet the NETL requirement described herein may identify themselves and must provide evidence of their capability to fulfill the requirement being requested by 3:00 PM ET on May 22, 2024.
