The devices are the NASA Standard Initiator- 1 (NSI-1), NASA Standard Initiator- 3A (NSI-3A), and NASA Standard Detonator (NSD). CED is currently the only source with NASA qualification to fabricate, assemble, and conduct performance acceptance testing on the pyrotechnic devices. In accordance with FAR 5.207(c)(16)(ii), all responsible sources may submit a capability statement which shall be considered by the agency. This notice is for informational purposes only. This is not a request for competitive proposals. The Government intends to award this requirement noncompetitively in accordance with FAR 6.302-1.
