This contract action is for the acquisition of supplies/equipment for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 13.106-1(b). The National Eye Institute (NEI) intends to award a single source purchase order to Leica Microsystems, Deerfield, IL, for the acquisition of preventive service maintenance for the government Leica Stellaris 8 (serial no. 8300000691) and Leica SP8 Confocal (serial no. 8110001943). The National Eye Institute (NEI) Biological Imaging Core needs to obtain the annual preventative service maintenance agreement for a clinical instrument Leica Stellaris 8 (serial no. 8300000691) and Leica SP8 Confocal (serial no. 8110001943). The instrument’s service shall consist of a thorough cleaning, calibration, adjusting, inspection, and testing of all equipment in accordance with the manufacturer’s latest established service procedures. All equipment shall be operationally tested through at least one (1) complete operating cycle at the end of the preventive maintenance inspection to ensure optimum and efficient performance. Software Service and updates are required as part of the contract and should include only original equipment manufacturer (OEM) parts and include a guaranteed on-site response.
