Background: The National Institute on Aging (NIA) Biorepository is reaching maximum capacity and new freezers are needed to hold additional research samples. Older Freezers fail regularly and need to be replaced. Purpose and Objectives: Freezers are required for expanding sample storage capacity of the NIA biorepository at TRIAD. Project requirements: The contactor shall provide two -80c Ultra Cold Standing Freezers with the following characteristics: Capacity: 28.8 cu. ft., Rack Capacity: 24, Amperage: 8.9-4.9 A, Defrost: Manual, Display: Touch-Screen LCD, Exterior Finish: Painted Cold Rolled Steal, Holds: 2 in. Boxes (600). Manufacturer warranty is required for 5 years on parts and labor with additional 7 years on compressor parts. The contractor shall deliver and install the freezers. Anticipated period of performance: The delivery date is within 6 weeks after receipt of purchase order. The contractor shall deliver and install the freezers. (a) Technical and past performance, when combined, are significantly more important than cost or price. (b) A written notice of award or acceptance of an offer, mailed or otherwise furnished to the successful offeror within the time for acceptance specified in the offer, shall result in a binding contract without further action by either party. Before the offer’s specified expiration time, the Government may accept an offer (or part of an offer), whether or not there are negotiations after its receipt, unless a written notice of withdrawal is received before award.
