## Description

This contract action is for the acquisition of services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 13.106-1(b)(1). The National Cancer Institute (NCI), Office of Acquisitions (OA) intends to award a single source purchase order to Carl Zeiss Microscopy, LLC One North Broadway, White Plains, NY 10601-2310.

The Centre of Cancer Research (CCR) Microscopy Core has an existing Zeiss LSM880 Airyscan super-resolution microscope used heavily by NCI researchers for confocal and super-resolution imaging of biological samples related to cancer research. The purpose of the acquisition is to secure a maintenance service agreement with the OEM vendor, Carl Zeiss Microscopy, LLC., to maintain the microscope in optimal operating condition should any repairs or calibration be required.

As a microscopy core serving hundreds of NCI researchers, the objective is to ensure the Zeiss LSM880 Airyscan microscope is functional and operating properly to provide users with “state-of-the-art” microscopic imaging for a wide range of cancer research projects.
