## Description

Specific characteristics of Equine Assisted Psychotherapy that limit the availability to a sole source are certified knowledge and experience of the EAP treatment modality and in-house availability of Equine Specialists to support our own licensed and certified EAP providers.

Only Freedom Equine Connections in Dixon, CA can furnish the requirements, to the exclusion of other sources, because the alternative sources are beyond the reasonable commuting distance of Sacred Oaks Healing Center in Davis, CA; and it was discovered the alternative sources have stopped offering EAP. Moreover, there is only one equine institute offering EAP services within commuting distance of SOHC.

The alternative sites previously offering EAP are located in Folsom, CA (46 miles) and Diamond Springs, CA (66miles), respectively. Even if available, it would be an unreasonable stressor and unnecessary risk for children and staff to travel more than one hour each direction for regular clinical programming in this modality.
