The Sysmex CyFlow instrument, and related test kits will be validated for use in the Clinical Monitoring Unit laboratory at CDC headquarters. This purchase will provide and increase knowledge, training, competency assessment, and technical support services for laboratory-based detection of CD4 and CD4% values, which provides necessary information to inform clinician decisions on appropriate advanced HIV disease treatment to be administered to patients in a timely manner. To maintain optimal performance of the Sysmex CyFlow instrumentation, maintenance is vital, which includes preventative maintenance performed by Sysmex service engineers. Once purchased and installed in the laboratory, the CyFlow counter instrument, supplies, kits, and service maintenance contract service maintenance agreement is to provide a service contract for the Sysmex CyFlow instrument to ensure the continued quality and acceptability of its performance.
