The continuity of sequencing influenza with the Illumina DNA prep library and sequencing kits on the Illumina sequencing platforms is critical for analyzing, comparing, and compiling influenza data with united states public health laboratories and the World Health Organization (WHO) Collaborating Centers in the World Health Organization Global Influenza Surveillance and Response Network (GISRS) who use the same kits, sequencing platforms and protocols. All data reports from WHO Collaborating Centers in the GISRS are analyzed at the biannual influenza vaccine meetings in Geneva, Switzerland, and are critical for selecting the influenza viruses used in the Northern and Southern Hemisphere annual influenza vaccines. This contract action is for supplies for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b) (SAP) and 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1). Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, all quotations/responses received within seven days of the issuance of this notice will be considered by the government. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government.
