PURPOSE / OBJECTIVE The purpose of this project is to provide logistical support to PRB to conduct a workshop covering methods for animal capture, handling, sample collection, and field biosafety, to conduct ecological investigations of potential MPXV reservoirs in wildlife, and to conduct molecular diagnostics on the collected animal samples. This will provide data on which types of animals are hosts for MPXV and which types of animals may be transmitting the virus to human populations. The project will take place for up to 4 years and fieldwork will occur in regions of the country where mpox cases have been reported. SCOPE OF WORK The contractor will conduct an ecology methods workshop and ecological investigations. The contractor will also work with PRB to conduct diagnostic testing on the collected samples.
