The Senior Security Sector Reform Advisor will provide support to the Washington-based security sector reform portfolio at USAID and contribute to the design, implementation, and evaluation of rights-related assistance programs worldwide. The Advisor will conduct assessments to identify security-related needs, opportunities, and entry points for programming. They will also design security-related programs, activities, and procurement mechanisms, helping M/B/IOs identify and apply innovative and evidence-based approaches. The Senior Security Sector Reform Advisor will also design and manage security-related activities that inform the development of technical policies, guidance, and tools, and provide insights and evidence to improve security-related programming and build and synthesize evidence across multiple countries, regions, sectors, and programs to assess and influence USAID’s work and that of other actors.
