JAMES has experienced several loss of engine speed control incidents while in Starboard Cruise mode, resulting in severe engine bogging or un-commanded declutches and engine shutdowns. Issue appears to occur when the operator increases handle position from ~2 to ~5, at which point pitch on both shafts increases as expected but engine RPM/power output does not, causing the engine to bog down to ~240 ERPM at which point the system automatically declutches both shafts and shuts the engine down. Scope. MTU Rolls Royce Solutions America send a propulsion integrator technician to meet and troubleshoot issue and restore class-standard pitch/speed combinator maping across all propulsion modes. Remap throttle and Prop positions While underway troubleshoot and repair ships propulsion system. Restore the MDE to normal operation. GFE: N/A Tasks. The contractor shall provide technical expertise for mapping throttle positions and all corresponding speeds. Delivery. Contractor shall provide a final report within 3 days of contract period of performance. Place of performance- CGC JAMES UNDERWAY. Meet cutter small boat in Miami.
