The reservoirs are federally owned by the United States Bureau of Reclamation (BOR) with areas that access to the facilities managed by Larimer County. The project will improve vehicular and pedestrian access to the reservoirs while simultaneously improving safety at these locations which serve over one million visitors annually. **SCOPE OF THE WORK:** The scope includes rehabilitation, reconstruction, minor widening, and new construction of parking lots and access roads. Carter Lake Reservoir improvements include rehabilitation at the North Pines and Eagle Campground Parking Lots, reconstruction of the Big Thomson Parking Lot, new construction at the Quarry Overflow Parking Lot, and widening of County Road 31 for an auxiliary travel lane between the Big Thomson and Quarry Overflow Parking Lots. The Horsetooth Reservoir improvements include rehabilitation of the Inlet Bay and South Bay Parking Lots and widening of County Road 38E to accommodate an additional turn lane into the South Bay Parking Lots. The work at the sites specifically includes roadway excavation, obliteration, full depth reclamation, aggregate base and asphalt concrete pavement placement, concrete flatwork and curb and gutter, and signing and striping. Drainage improvements such as culvert installation, channel stabilization, and water quality features are also included.
