## Description

NOTICE OF INTENT TO SINGLE SOURCE – CBP Onyx Dual Fiber NO PHONE CALLS PLEASE. ALL QUESTIONS MUST BE IN WRITING AND EMAILED TO THE CONTRACTING SPECIALIST CONTACT INFORMATION BELOW. In accordance with the FAA Acquisition Management System paragraph 3.2.2.4, the purpose of this announcement is to inform industry of the basis of the FAA's decision to contract with a selected source using single source procedures.

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) intends to award a single source, one-time award to purchase the following items: Item Number Description Quantity 00001 Sintela product ONYX ™ PETA Sensing Unit (Model No. ONX530001) 1.00 Rational Basis for Use of Single Source Award Procedures: Sintela is the only known source that can provide the ONYX 530001 LGDS system, due to unit design is proprietary to Sintela.

The ONX530001 is a piece of proprietary equipment to Sintela, and it is currently installed on the Linear Ground Detection Systems which are deployed by CBP. It is necessary to use the same equipment to support CBP in security remediation efforts for the LGDS system. Sintela has not licensed this data or knowledge to any other vendors. Sintela will not sell or otherwise provide data, knowledge, or other intellectual property necessary to compete the required support.
