The FAA has a has a requirement to enhance the FAA Life Cycle Analysis (FAALCAn), a web-based tool that is used to promote energy use and resource conservation for construction and maintenance of airport runways and taxiways (pavement) to result in cost-effective airfield infrastructure planning. The FAA wants to enhance the software tool so airports can more accurately track and reduce the environmental impact of building and maintaining airport pavements. UC Davis, as the original developer of FAALCAn, is uniquely qualified to provide the required services. They possess exclusive knowledge of the tool’s architecture, algorithms, and integration with the Federal Life Cycle Assessment Commons. This announcement is for informational purposes only.
