These programs seek to identify and authorize replacements for current 100 octane low lead (100LL) aviation gasoline. The Government intends to procure this fuel pursuant to Acquisition Management System 3.2.2.4 “Single-Source Selection”. The fuel formulated by VP Racing Fuel is the only candidate fuel that successfully passed the FAA’s required pre-screening tests. The pre-screening tests consist of Detonation Performance, Engine Durability Performance, and Materials Compatibility Performance. Consequently, the VP Racing fuel is the only fuel that can graduate into the next phase of PAFI testing. This is a first-time procurement. This is NOT a Screening Information Request or Request for Proposal of any kind.
