The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC or Commission) has a brand name requirement for Google Analytics premium platform, which allows the SEC to track all web traffic on Sec and Investor.Gov as well as internal sites. The SEC maintains and enhances multiple inter-related information technology environments that provide services to both the general public and participants in the securities industry: SEC.gov Public Website and the SEC Investor Website (www.investor.gov).

In total, these websites receive an average of 50 million hits per day and 1.5 billion hits per month. Cardinal Path, who is a google analytics reseller, is a firm that provides a complete range of professional services for advanced web analytics, support, and consultations. It is an essential tool for monitoring all web traffic on Sec and Investor.Gov and related websites across the Commission.

Cardinal Path has customized the google analytics platform to meet the specialized requirements of the SEC. It is the intent to sole source this specialized software program to continue the support of the SEC's requirements.
