## Description

Pursuant to (FAR) 13.106-1(b), The National Science Foundation (NSF) and the Directorate for Mathematical & Physical Sciences (MPS) intends to negotiate a sole source purchase order for the booth rental, set up services, and materials for 2025 American Astronomical Society (AAS) from January 12, 2025 - January 16, 2025. The American Astronomical Society (AAS), established in 1899 and based in Washington, DC, is the major organization of professional astronomers in North America.

Its membership of more than 8,000 individuals includes in addition astronomers, physicists, mathematicians, geologists, engineers, and others whose research and educational interests lie within the broad spectrum of subjects comprising contemporary astronomy. The mission of the AAS is to enhance and share humanity’s scientific understanding of the universe. As part of its mission, the AAS facilitates meetings of astronomers.

The Society meets twice per year, once in January and once in June, while also organizing the meetings of each of its six topical Divisions. The AAS meeting is expected to bring together over 3,600 people from all over the world to New Orleans, USA, to present and discuss the latest scientific breakthroughs and discoveries in the rapidly evolving scientific area of astronomy. The AAS is the only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. The notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. This synopsis is for informational purposes only.
