This extension in services will extend beyond the awarded five (5) year period of performance, however, in accordance with FAR 17.204(e) this extension is allowable as the services being provided are Information Technology (IT) based. The extension is needed to allow DMDC to continue to support its current mission under VLER with no break in service while the Government awards the follow-on procurement, titled DEERS Veterans Affairs Support Programs (DVASP). The acquisition is conducted under the authority of the Multiple-Award Schedule (MAS) Program.
