Market research revealed that Qiagen, LLC is the proprietary developer and sole service provider of maintenance and repair for the nucleic acid equipment currently being utilized by Iowa City VA Health Care System. Additionally, Qiagen, LLC is the creator and Original Equipment Manufacturer of the QIAGEN EZ1 ADVANCED XL NUCLEIC ACID PROCESSORS AND ANALYZERS AND QIACUBE MDX) and has over the life of this equipment serviced this equipment for Iowa City VA Health Care System. Qiagen, LLC, furthermore, owns the proprietary maintenance rights for this equipment. Thus, it is impossible for any other company to provide maintenance for this equipment as Qiagen has sole rights and does not allow for authorized resellers, authorized dealers, or third party maintenance vendors to provide such services. Any other entity besides Qiagen providing this service would result in violation of these proprietary rights and voiding of any equipment warranties, as applicable.
