VA requires the proprietary Equipment Maintenance Services from Becton, Dickinson and Company DBA BD Diagnostic System in accordance with 41 U.S.C. 3304(a)(1), as implemented by FAR 13.106-1(b) - Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements because the software and/or services are unique or proprietary to Becton, Dickinson and Company DBA BD Diagnostic System. Market research revealed that Becton, Dickinson and Company DBA BD Diagnostic System is the proprietary provider of the service currently being utilized by VA. Additionally, Becton, Dickinson and Company DBA BD Diagnostic System is the only company that can provide the required maintenance support for the equipment. The services supplied are routinely used by VA to provide maintenance services for the Becton Dickinson equipment in the VA Healthcare System. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this requirement is 811210 and the product service code (PSC) is J065. While this synopsis does not constitute a solicitation, interested vendors may identify their interest and capability to satisfy the requirement. All responsible sources may submit a capability statement, proposal, or quotation which shall be considered by the agency.
