CONTRACT REQUIREMENTS DESCRIPTION/SPECIFICATIONS/STATEMENT OF WORK The Phoenix VA Health Care System (Agency) has requested a service contract to Laser Etch and purchase Nu Trace scanner for purposes of tracking and having a full accounting of inventory. This professional service aids in preventing the loss of instrumentation and being able to track trays and instrumentation and scopes in real time. Also, this will help with better care for our Veterans. For several months the SPS department has been trying to mark instrumentation that is purchased as well as older instruments. This has caused a back-up/pile-up of instruments needing etching thus preventing the department from keeping up with the demand of instrument sets for surgical procedures. REQUIRED SERVICES Laser Etching of up to 50,000 instruments at 800 per day. Instruments to be marked with unique device identifier for each instrument. Data entry/editing of current instruments in inventory. Existing instruments will be reviewed for accuracy of description and eliminate duplicates. Instruments markings not picked up/identified by initial scans will be removed and remarked with Class II Laser. Edit and make necessary count sheet changes to help eliminate tray-picking errors. This will include the usage and shipping of another laser to be present in helping with project. This will also include training staff to operate Laser Etching machine. Annual laser and scanner preventive maintenance program.
