Point of use faucets that tested positive for legionella located in the Community Living Center, ICU/PCU, Post Op Recovery, Day Surgery, Special Procedures, Infusion Clinic, and patient care wings must be replaced immediately to protect Veterans and staff from exposure to positive legionella. The anticipated acquisition procedures are in accordance with (IAW) Veterans Affairs Acquisition Regulation (VAAR) 819.7008 Sole source award to verified service-disabled veteran-owned small business (SDVOSB). VA s program is codified at 38 U.S.C § 8127(b) that provides the authority for VA contracting officers to make award to SDVOSBs using other than full and open competition (sole source).
