It is necessary in order for equipment to be able to receive information and communicate with VA facility technology. DSS Pyxis IV Prep Software / Rx Framework is the only interface with ability to have order information able to be transmitted to BD IV Prep and can therefore utilize the equipment labels rather than generating separate VistA labels. It allows for streamlined usage of equipment rather than requiring workaround that PADE interface may require.
