The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this requirement is 339112 - Surgical and Medical Instrument Manufacturing. The proposed vendor SIEMENS MEDICAL SOLUTIONS USA, INC is the sole manufacturer and distributor of the Siemens Skyra Coldhead RDE-412L4 (11472997). This equipment is very complex and is set to replace the current piece of equipment that is critical to Veteran care. The San Francisco VA Health Care System currently operates a Siemens Skyra MRI and has a requirement to replace the Coldhead. This notice satisfies the requirement at RFO 5.101.
