The procurement is on behalf of the Department of Veterans Affairs, Veterans Health Administration, Regional Procurement Office West (RPOW), Network Contracting Office (NCO) 21, on behalf of Northern California Health Care System. Given the market research conducted and the conversation(s) with the OEM, there are apparent authorized distributors available for the reagents, controls, and supplies; however, warranty and service agreements are available only via the OEM. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulates medical devices sold in the United States to assure their safety and effectiveness. Items purchased for use at the Department of Veterans Affairs must be FDA approved.
