## Description

The San Francisco VA Medical Center requires the services of a qualified General Contractor to construct Project 662-23-113, Renovate NIH Bio Safety Laboratory to BSL-3 Level. The general scope of this requirement is to completely refurbish and remodel the existing laboratory from roof to floor. This is to include removal of existing cabinets, benches, and furniture. Install new roof, interior walls, plumbing, electrical, ventilation, and flooring. Install new equipment, cabinets, and furnishings.

All work is to be done in compliance with NIH BSL-3 Laboratory Standards. The nature and requirements of this construction are fully exhibited in the attached Construction Documents which include complete drawings and specifications. The area of construction is located within the main hospital in Building 2 with area of work entirely on the 5th floor, effectively the west side of the building on the top floor. Infrastructure work extends beyond the normal areas of work to accommodate work to utility systems.

Special care is to be taken as related to impact surrounding clinical areas, and to schedule utility outages with minimal impact to patients in occupied areas. Noise, vibration, and dust control should be expected to be heavily managed with limitations strictly coordinated.
