The general scope of work for the project: The following narrative is intended to provide an overview of the scope of work of the proposed project at the Kansas City, MO VA Medical Center: This project will renovate approximately 18,000 SF of space on the 3rd floor of Building 26 and update infrastructure at the main KCVA Medical Center Campus to expand and support Sterile Processing Services (SPS). Additional areas of impact include various locations from the basement mechanical room through every floor up to, and including, the rooftop of the 5-story building to install infrastructure that will service SPS and remove equipment that is no longer necessary. The SPS project includes upgrades to utilities that will serve the space, reconfiguring the existing dumbwaiter shaft, installing a new dumbwaiter shaft, and reinforcing the floor to support the new sterile processing equipment. This work is to be completed in phases. The work will be considered a construction site within an active medical facility and ICRA requirements will apply, including establishing and monitoring negative air that is exhausted directly to the outdoors per the VHA ICRA requirements. The estimated project cost range to complete this work is between $10,000,000.00 and $20,000,000.00. Pursuant to 38 USC 8127(d) and in accordance with Public Law 109-461, the Veterans Benefits, Health Care and Information Technology Act of 2006, this construction project will be solicited as a Total set-aside for Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSB). The North American Industry Classification Code (NAICS) for this procurement is 236220 (Commercial and Institutional Building Construction), with a small business size standard of $45.0 million. **Contract Type:** Firm Fixed.
