Contractor shall provide service for the existing Mid-America Regional Council Emergency Response (MARCER) and Hospital Emergency Ambulance Radio (HEAR) system for city wide emergency disaster information in the emergency department. MARCER and HEAR is a radio system used by the ambulance crews while transporting patients to and from hospitals, 24 hours/7 days a week,365 days per year. The equipment is located at the Kansas City VA Hospital. Commenco, LLC is the only telecommunications company in Kansas City that is authorized by the Mid-America Regional Council Emergency Response (MARCER) and Hospital Emergency Ambulance Radio (HEAR), to service and maintain the 9-1-1 emergency call network for the Kansas City Metro Area. Commenco, LLC is also the only organization in the Kansas City region that offers the VA Transportation Department, the Motorola Connect Plus, city wide, roaming, radio communications system.
