## Description

The Department of Veterans Affairs, Network Contracting Office (NCO) 15, intends to solicit and award a sole source, firm fixed price contract with one Large Business (LB) source, Medtronic. This acquisition is to ensure the continuous reliability of the Medtronic Ventilators system. The equipment is critical for surgical services at the VA Medical Center and the reliable and accurate operation of the equipment at all times is considered critical to the health of patients.

Market research confirmed that no other vendor, other than Medtronic, supplies the parts included in this acquisition. The Veterans Health Administration prohibits the use of gray market items. Gray market items are considered to be items outside of the original equipment manufacturer s intended distribution channels.

The anticipated award date is 17 April 2024. The prices offered for this acquisition have been determined to be fair and reasonable after a comparison of both the Independent Government Cost Estimate (IGCE) and historical pricing. The NAICS Code for this requirement is 622110 General Medical and Surgical Hospitals and the size standard is $47.0 million.

This notice of intent to sole source is not a request for quotes; however, all responsible sources may submit a capability statement which shall be considered by the Government. All capability statements must be received no later than 8:00 AM CDT on Monday, April 15, 2024. Responses are to be submitted to Tim Fitzgerald, Contracting Specialist at timothy.fitzgerald@va.gov.

A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government and supporting Contracting Officer.
