## Description

The Department of Veterans Affairs, Network Contracting Office (NCO) 15, intends to solicit and award a sole source, firm fixed price contract with one Large Business (LB) source, Siemens Medical Solutions USA, Inc. The AXIOM Luminos Agile MAX qualifies as highly specialized piece of equipment that no small or large business have the proper training or software to maintain or repair this system.

This would lead to both a substantial duplication of cost to the government that is not expected to be recovered through competition, and an unacceptable delay in fulfilling the agency s requirements, whichever situation applies.

Accordingly, Siemens Medical Solutions USA, Inc. is the only firm capable of providing the parts, software updates, supplies and services described above without the Veteran s Health Administration experiencing substantial duplication of cost that could not be expected to be recovered through competition and unacceptable delays in fulfilling its requirements.

This notice of intent to sole source is not a request for quotes; however, all responsible sources may submit a capability statement which shall be considered by the Government. All capability statements must be received no later than 5:00 PM CST on Wednesday, February 28th, 2024. Responses are to be submitted to Cory A. Rosene, Contracting Specialist at Cory.Rosene@va.gov.

A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government and supporting Contracting Officer.
