## Description

The Department of Veterans Affairs, Network Contracting Office (NCO 12) Great Lakes Acquisition Center anticipates entering a single source procurement with Boston Medical Products, Inc. for an Tonn/Novatech-brand Stent Insertion Systems (Tonn Systems). This acquisition is conducted under FAR 13.106-1(b). VA Milwaukee has rigid bronchoscopes required to implement a silicone stent service but require the Tonn devices for establishing a comprehensive interventional pulmonary program.

The Tonn devices are required for deploying silicon stents in selected group of patients. This system would be used on Veterans with central airway obstruction which may be malignant or non-malignant in nature. The self-expanding metal stents (SEMS) have drawbacks such as risk of granulation tissue formation, risks of stent fracture, and difficulty of removal after prolonged use. In contrast, silicone stents, which were the predecessors to SEMS, are cheaper and easier to reposition and remove.

Other entities may identify their interest and capability by responding to this requirement no later than 9/23/2024 at 12:00 p.m. CDT. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals; however, all interested entities submitting a response to this notice must do so no later than the period specified for consideration. A determination by the Government not to open the requirement to competition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.

Information received because of the notice of intent will normally be considered for determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. No solicitation document is available.
