University Avenue, Cincinnati, OH 45219-2356, intends to solicit and award a firm-fixed-price IDIQ contract with a five (5) year ordering period to one large business, Cepheid. The contract will be used as a procurement vehicle to acquire reagents and consumables for the Cepheid GeneXpert System currently used at the VISN 10, Cincinnati Veterans Affairs Medical Center (CVAMC), Pathology & Laboratory Medicine Service (P&LMS) at 3200 Vine Street, Cincinnati, OH 45220-2213. The analyzer performs Influenza A (Flu A), Influenza B (Flu B), Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV), Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2 (SARS-COV2), and Group A Streptococcus (Strep A) testing. Only cartridges manufactured by Cepheid will work with this analyzer. It is proprietary in nature, and the configuration is such that only a specific cartridge will fit into the analyzer. The original equipment manufacturer (OEM) for this equipment is Cepheid.
