## Description

Notice of Intent to Sole Source Requirement Lumen LD200 Drying System The Department of Veterans Affairs, Network Contracting Office (NCO) 10, located at 24 Frank Lloyed Wright Dr., Lobby M, Suite M2200, Ann Arbor, MI 48105, intends to negotiate a Sole Source, Firm-Fixed-Price, Purchase Order to one Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB), Trillamed, LLC. The purchase order will be for the VISN 10, Richard L. Roudebush Veterans Affairs Medical Center (RLR VAMC) in Indianapolis, IN.

The vendor will be Trillamed LLC, 30100 Telegraph Road, Suite 366, Bingham Farms, MI 48025 The Department of Veterans Affairs, VA Healthcare System, Network Contracting Office 10, intends to negotiate a sole source contract under Simplified Acquisition Procedures and the authority of FAR Part 13.106-1(b)(1)(i), Soliciting from a Single Source for the items listed below.

The associated NAICS code for this is 339113. Description of equipment requirements: 090350-11 Model 350-1 Medical Device Dryer Package 2 (including 2-year warranty covering parts and labor) Quantity of 1 880015-01 Extended Warranty for Dryers with Equipment Quantity of 1 The RLR VAMC has been experiencing an increase in surgical cases involving the Davinci Robotic arm medical device.

Proper cleaning of medical devices between cases is critical to patient safety, reducing cross contamination of equipment, and limiting the possibility of spreading hospital acquired infections. Market research was conducted to identify best practices and supplies/products available in the marketplace in order to meet the demands of the facility.

The requested medical device drying system has been found to have technology with validated drying of robotic arms in 30 minutes, and next-generation air handling technology that expedites drying of all medical devices resulting in faster throughput not found with other dryers. The cabinet is HEPA filtered which eliminates 99.9% of particulates and is designed to provide clinically dry lumened devices.

The horizontal airflow pattern allows air to be evenly distributed throughout the chamber and helps assure efficient, even and thorough drying. The dryer is constructed of 16 20-gauge stainless steel and has a durable powder coat finish that is resistant to chemicals, chipping and fading. Acquisition of this device would decrease turnaround times and allow instruments to be available for the additional cases.

Additionally, the service currently owns the Model 350-1 Medical Device Dryer, and the staff members are currently fully trained in using it, thus preventing downtime from learning to operate new equipment. Standardization of medical equipment has been shown to be the best practice and a benefit for the VA and patient care. A firm fixed price contract with no option years is anticipated and shall be awarded.

It is the Government's belief that only the proposed candidate possesses the required capabilities to successfully meet this requirement. It is the Government's intention to solicit and negotiate with only this source. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. It is not a solicitation or request for offers.
