This system will replace the Captus 3000 Uptake Probe and Well Counter which has reached end of life. The uptake probe allows the Nuclear Medicine department to access and detect a patient s thyroid function, such as hypothyroidism and hyperthyroidism. This exam is routinely ordered by our primary care providers. The well counter is used as a secondary backup well counter for the Nuclear Medicine Department. The well counter is mandatory for the use of radioactive material per the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) and National Health Physics Program (NHPP).
