## Description

The Veterans Affairs Puget Sound Health Care System (VAPSHCS) is seeking service conducting statistical analyses and providing statistical consultation to the funded study s Principal Investigator and the study team.

**Objectives:** The Veterans Affairs anticipate to award a four-year service contract with one base and three option years.

**Scope of Work/Tasks:** This study requires a biostatistician with extensive experience conducting statistical analyses of psychotherapy clinical trial data focused on suicide-related and PTSD outcomes. The biostatistician will have primary responsibility for statistical analysis of study data and will provide consultation to the study Principal Investigator and study team on matters related to database management and design, statistical programming, and interpretation of analysis results.

This research study requires consultation from a pre-eminent biostatistician with expertise in analysis of psychotherapy clinical trial data in areas relevant to this project, which will be evidenced by the following experience and expertise: Doctoral degree in Mathematical Statistics Academic rank at the level of Full Professor of Statistics Expertise in biostatistics evidenced by more than 200 peer reviewed publications on the application of statistical methods in health-related research Experience working as the primary biostatistician on over 20 competitive, federally-funded randomized clinical trials of psychotherapies Expertise in longitudinal and multilevel statistical models with clustered data, including contributing to the development of these methods via at least 5 peer-reviewed articles on this topic Experience as a Principal Investigator on 1 or more competitive, federally-funded statistical methods projects Subject matter expertise in statistical analysis of suicide-related and/or PTSD outcomes in psychotherapy clinical trials evidenced by at least 10 peer reviewed publications in this area This is a Sources Sought synopsis only.

The purpose of this synopsis is to gain knowledge of potential qualified sources and their size classification (large business, small business, 8(a), SDVOSB, etc.), relative to NAICS code 541715. Responses to this synopsis will be used by the Government to make appropriate acquisition decisions. Based on responses to this synopsis, the Government may issue this RFP.
