ZOLL Medical Corporation is the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) and the only source authorized to provide the required proprietary software, configuration, and technical support necessary to ensure compatibility with the existing ZOLL defibrillator platform currently deployed within the facility. The manufacturer maintains exclusive rights to the device firmware, diagnostic tools, and system architecture required to configure and support these life-saving medical devices. The manufacturer also maintains control over software updates, device configuration protocols, and authorized service procedures. A sole source letter received from **ZOLL Medical Corporation indicates that the manufacturer does not authorize third-party vendors to perform software configuration, firmware updates, or technical servicing on ZOLL defibrillator systems due to the proprietary nature of the hardware and software. Engagement of unauthorized third-party vendors may void applicable warranties and service agreements and could result in system incompatibility or failure to meet manufacturer performance specifications.
