The proposed contract is for an Abbott iStat Point of Care Analyzers (Cost-Per-Test) consumables to provide medical testing for the following: ACT, hs Troponin, Basic metabolic panel with hemoglobin and hematocrit, Blood gases with sodium, potassium, hemoglobin and hematocrit, Creatinine, Glucose for critically ill patients required to be performed on a single platform/equipment. The current platform is old and is in need of replacement. These products and equipment are utilized to ensure and maintain high-quality testing and disease discovery for medical patients. There is only one company with the capability of performing these designated tests under one platform. The applicable NAICS code for this acquisition is 334516 with a business size standard of 1,000 employees and PSC 6640. The proposed contract is to replace the current outdated Point of Care Test Analyzers (Cost-Per-Test), consumables. A newer version of the Abbott i-STAT analyzers (Cost-Per-Test) consumables and platform, which the Government intends to solicit, with only one source under the Authority of FAR 13.106-1(b).
