## Description

NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD SOLE SOURCE CONTRACT The Department of Veterans Affairs, Network Contracting Office 8, hereby provides notice of its intent to award a sole-source, firm-fixed-price contract to [Medela LLC] for the procurement of [THOPAZ DIGITAL CHEST DRAINAGE AND MONITORING SYSTEM].

This requirement is for the Operation Room Department at the James A. Haley Veterans Hospital, located at 13000 Bruce B. Downs Blvd, Tampa, FL 33612. The proposed contract action is conducted pursuant to FAR 13.106-1(b), which authorizes sole source awards when the supplies or services required are available from only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements due to their unique or highly specialized nature.

The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is [339112], with a corresponding small business size standard of [1,000] employees. A sole source justification, as required by regulation, has been executed and is on file. The anticipated period of performance for this contract is [30 Days ARO]. This notice is not a request for competitive proposals or quotations; no solicitation will be issued.

The Government has determined that only one source is capable of providing the required supplies/services. However, interested parties may submit a capabilities statement that demonstrates, by a preponderance of the evidence, their ability to fulfill the Government s requirement for [DIGITAL CHEST DRAINAGE AND MONITORING SYSTEM] at the James A. Haley Veterans Hospital. All responses must clearly articulate how the interested party is able to meet the Government s needs.

Responses must be received no later than [6/23/2025]. No telephone inquiries will be accepted. All questions or submissions must be made in writing and directed via email to Marcus.Lewis2@va.gov. The Government will not be responsible for any costs incurred in response to this notice. A determination by the Government not to compete this requirement is solely within the discretion of the Government.
