## Description

Atlanta VAHCS GI Lab uses Manoscan system to perform esophageal and anorectal manometry. These are specialized procedures. Esophageal manometry is used to assess esophageal motility and physiological function for patients with swallowing disorders, reflux and for pre-operative planning. Anorectal manometry is used to assess the function of the anus and rectum muscles in patients who have constipation, fecal incontinence and other anorectal complaints.

These are physiologic tests which GI has performed in the GI lab for the past 10 years to improve patient care and adhere to the care guidelines as set forth by the American College of Gastroenterology and American Gastroenterological Association.
