## Description

NOTICE OF INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE This notice is being published in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 5.101 requiring dissemination of information for proposed contract actions. This is a notice of intent to award a sole source contract and is not a request for competitive quotes/proposals.

The Department of Veterans Affairs, Birmingham VA Medical Center, located 700 19th St S, Birmingham, AL 35233 is issuing this Notice of Intent (NOI) to inform industry contractors of the Government s intent to execute a Sole Source Purchase Order under FAR Part 13.5 Simplified Procedures for Certain Commercial Items: The authority for applying the Simplified Procedures for Commercial Items of FAR 13.5 is 41 U.S.C. 1901 and is implemented for restricting competition on this procurement via FAR 13.106-1(b)(2).

This notice satisfies the posting requirements at FAR Part 5.101. The intended Contractor is SCIREQ Inc located at 6600 Saint-Urbain, Ste 300, Montréal, Quebec, H2S 3G8. The Birmingham VA Healthcare System requires the purchase of a inExpose smoke machine for experiments of smoke inhalation.
