## Description

The Department of Veteran Affairs intends to award a sole source firm fixed price purchase order to bioMérieux, Inc. This order will be for full technical support and maintenance on the BioFire Multiplex testing platform for the VISN 6 facilities: Charles George VAMC, Durham VAMC, Fayetteville VAMC, Hampton VAMC, Salem VA Health Care System, and W. G. Bill Hefner VAMC.

The BIOFIRE Systems integrate sample preparation, amplification, detection, and analysis into one easy-to-use system capable of massively multiplexed PCR. Each platform is a fully automated, multiplex PCR system capable of detecting multiple targets in one sample in about one hour. The instrumentation and all products provided must be certified compatible for use with VISN 6 VA owned instruments.
