Located at: Central VA Health Care System (CVVHS), 1201 East Broad Rock Boulevard, Richmond, Virginia, 23249. In general, this project shall include, but is not limited to, providing all mechanical, electrical, general construction labor, material, equipment, and supervision needed to perform the modernization of 3 passenger elevators (P5, P6, & P7) at Building 500 in accordance with contract documents. A brief listing of some of the work to be performed are New Controller and Supervisory Panel, New Traction Hoist Machine, Ropes and Governor, New Conductors, New Cab Doors (interior and exterior) and Door Operating and Safety Equipment, New Cab Interior Finishes (flooring, walls, handrails, false ceiling), Contractor shall submit supplier s standard finish cutsheets for the Government to select finishes, New Cab Light fixtures (provide comparable LED replacement fixtures), New Cab Exhaust Fans, New Hoistway Panels, Tracks, and Cab Guides, New Car Door Panels, New Car Operating Panels, New Hallway Fixtures, New Safety Governor, Existing stainless steel panels to remain in the lobbies and within the cab, shall be cleaned, buffed and polished. The existing elevators are Thyssen-Kruppe traction elevators installed during original building construction. The work shall be performed in strict accordance with construction drawings and specifications prepared by Department of Veterans Affairs. This solicitation is anticipated to be 100% Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) set aside. Offers are solicited only from SDVOSB concerns and offers received from firms that are not SDVOSB VetCert shall not be considered. The NAICS code for this project is 238990: All Other Specialty Trade Contractors with Size Standard of $19 million. The estimated magnitude of construction is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. Solicitation material will be available on or about February 15, 2024. Material will include the solicitation and accompanying documents: specifications provided from the VA. The penthouse power distribution panel is fed from an ATS. Do the elevators currently receive a pre-transfer signal from the ATS (Automatic Transfer Switch)? The new controllers will require a pre-transfer signal from the ATS. Yes. If no pre-transfer signal currently exists, does the ATS have the capability to time delay and send a pretransfer signal to the elevators it serves? Additionally, where is the ATS located within the building for each elevator identified in the solicitation? Conductors will need to be run in conduit and programmed to function. Contractor needs to know length of run, quantity or runs, and potential routing. Pre-transfer signal already exists for the elevators being modernized. Are there specific manufacturers the VA is interested in?
