This contract action is for products and services for which the Government intends to solicit from only one source under the authority of FAR 8.405.6 Only One Source. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) for this requirement is 339113 (Surgical Appliance and Supplies Manufacturing) with a small business size standard of 800 employees. THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTATIONS The Department of Veterans Affairs, Asheville VA Medical Center intends to award a firm fixed price, single source delivery order to Baxter Healthcare Corporation. The purpose of the order is to obtain Stryker Xpedition Powered Chairs for use by the EMT s with assisting patients into and out of their homes if there are stairs. The Stryker Xpedition Powered Chair is the only product of its kind with a 500lb weight capacity. Order to include the following: (P/N 625705550001) 6257 XPEDITION MID CONFIG POWERED CHAIR (P/N 650700450301) ASSEMBLY, BATTERY CHARGER (P/N 625700100400) HEAD RESTRAINT, XPEDITION (P/N 650700450102) ASSEMBLY, POWER CORD,NORTH AM A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
