## Description

**Description:** The Department of Veterans Affairs, Veterans Health Administration intends to award a sole source contract to University of Maryland Physicians, PA under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, "Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements." This sole source contract is shared space for the Depleted Uranium / Toxic Embedded Fragment Surveillance Center program, which are essential for patient care. The estimated value of this contract is $490,074.91.

**Justification:** The rationale for the sole source procurement is that University of Maryland Physicians, PA is the only source capable of providing this space that will allow proper functionality of the programs in proper relation to the VAMHCS, Baltimore. No other vendor can fulfill this requirement without significant duplication of costs and time delays.

**Interested Parties:** This notice is not a request for competitive proposals. However, any firm that believes it can meet the requirements described here may give written notification, and include supporting evidence, to the Contracting Officer, no later than the response due date. Responses shall include detailed documentation to allow the Government to assess the responding firm s capability, as well as solicitation information. All responses received will be considered by the Government.

A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract action based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be used to determine whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
