## Description

1. Contracting Activity:Â Â Department of Veterans Affairs, VISN 05, DCVA Medical Center.

2. Brief Description of Supplies/ Services required and the intended use/Estimated Amount:Â Â Replace McQuay Compressor in Core Lab DX m/n ACZ0258S/12 FT10 s/n STNU130500046 Cost: $25,511.00 3. Unique characteristics that limit availability to only one source, with the reason no other supplies or services can be used: The Washington DC VA Medical Center uses a package Chiller Unit for the production of Cooling in the CORE Lab.

On June 24, 2024, at 0530 the CORE Lab DX Unit suffered a Mechanical failure that shut the unit down. 4. Description of market research conducted and results or statement why it was not conducted:Â Â Lab is critical to the facility when diagnosing illnesses for patient care. At this time the temperature in the space is above the threshold that the machinery cannot operate effectively. Without the Lab in operation it would cause a work stoppage in diagnosing patient illnesses.

The VA Medical Center is finalizing a design build project to expand the capacity of the Chiller Plant and all sporting equipment to add redundancy to the existing distribution.
