Pre-Solicitation Notice of intent to award a sole source contract. This is not a solicitation. The Department of Veterans Affairs intends to negotiate a sole source contract with: NANION TECHNOLOGIES INC 1 Naylon PL Livingston, New Jersey 07039, United States JNJVG7YMH944 This is not a solicitation.

The Department of Veterans Affairs, West Haven, CT intends to award a sole source, firm-fixed-price contract to Nanion Technologies for the upgrades required for the Patchliner electrophysiology instruments used in their lab. These instruments, which include HEKA Quad-EPC10 patch-clamp amplifiers, need an upgrade to convert their data interface from a proprietary optical format to USB3 to ensure compatibility with Windows 11 computers.

Description of Supplies:Â (4) Upgrade of HEKA EPC 10 Quattro amplifiers (optical connection) to USB The hardware upgrade involves the modification of the HEKA Quad-EPC10 amplifiers to a USB3 interface. Nanion Technologies is the original manufacturer and sole provider authorized to perform the interface upgrade for the Patchliner instruments to USB3. They possess proprietary knowledge and access to specific components that are indispensable for the upgrade.

Nanion Technologies is the only vendor that can perform this upgrade without voiding future support for the Patchliner instruments, thereby ensuring the maintenance and reliability of the lab s equipment. The contractor will provide the required services. Since the intent is to procure this on a sole source basis, no solicitation will be posted to Contracting Opportunities SAM.gov.

The authority for this action is FAR 6.302.1-1 Only One Responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy the agency s requirements. The NAICS 334515.
