## Description

Special Notice for notice of intent to award a sole source contract. This is not a solicitation. The Department of Veterans Affairs intends to negotiate a firm-fixed-price purchase with Big Belly Solar, LLC 150 A Street Suite 103, NEEDHAM HEIGHTS, MA 02494-2824 USA for ten (10) Solar Waste-Recycling Receptacles. The authority for this action is FAR 6.302-1 Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements.

The proposed action shall be a commercial acquisition using simplified acquisition procedures classified under North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) 332439 with a Small Business Size Standard of 500 employees. The product is a smart waste and recycling system with a proprietary monitoring system, to include solar-powered compacting and non-compacting public space receptacles with data collection and monitoring capability for waste and recycling operations.

The medical center requires a streamlined waste management solution for indoor and outdoor use, fully enclosed, large capacity, fullness indicator, foot pedals for hands-free operation, without the use of AC electricity. Any firm that believes it has the capabilities to provide equipment compatible with the product, to include spare parts, software, and maintenance and support, may contact Contract Specialist Molly.Greening@va.gov.

Information received from firms as a result of this notice will be considered for support of the Government s determination to support of a non-competitive strategy. A determination not to compete this proposed order based on responses to this notice will be made at the discretion of the Government.
