Award Description The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Veteran Health Administration Innovation Ecosystem (VHA IE), strives to provide high quality, effective, and efficient Healthcare services to those responsible for providing care to the Veterans at the point-of-care as well as throughout all the points of the Veterans health care in an effective, timely and compassionate manner.

VHA IE is the catalyst for enabling the discovery and spread of mission-driven health care innovation that exceeds expectations, restores hope, and builds trust within the Veteran community. VHA IE leverages the collective power of innovation champions from across VA, academia, non-profit and industry to operationalize innovation in the Nation's largest integrated health care system.

VHA IE has a requirement that requires a proposed initiative encompassing a comprehensive package of hardware, software, and training tailored to enhance the capabilities of campus public safety personnel. This strategic investment aims to empower these personnel to effectively utilize advanced drones and tethering systems, thereby bolstering their readiness to respond to various incidents and emergencies with heightened efficiency.

This will be made capable by leveraging cutting-edge technology and specialized training. The initiative seeks to address key challenges faced by campus authorities, including missing patient incidents, active threats, and natural disasters. Moreover, the integration of drones into campus infrastructure management promises a range of benefits, from enhancing worker safety to optimizing facilities planning.
